Ok, now I have reasons...
Warning, none of these reasons do the characters any justice...
20. Bellatrix Lestrange (Harry Potter)
There’s just something special about that level of
crazy…
19. Miranda Hobbes (Sex and the City)
Showed us that even the most cynical person can
change, and see the good in life.
18. Col. Sherman T. Potter (M*A*S*H)
So much life behind him, so much wisdom within him,
and a deep commitment to his wife after so many
years apart…
17. Dream (Sandman)
Seemingly self-involved, yet spends so much of his
time helping others, and the universe.
16. Roseanne (Roseanne)
Brought us so much closer to reality in television
sitcoms…
15. Spike (BtVS/Angel)
Forced change turned into desired change for a
woman, but ultimately he used his changes to save
the world not the girl.
14. Lestat deLioncourt (Interview with the Vampire Series)
The vampire that cries at beauty…
13. Death (Sandman)
Amazingly makes you want to see death in a series.
And be embraced by her yourself...
12. Lou Grant (Mary Tyler Moore)
Gruff teddy bear who’s personal life and career was a
victim of the changes of the 70s.
11. CJ Cregg (The West Wing)
Stood head and shoulders above the men around
her…
10. Mary Richards (Mary Tyler Moore)
Taught a generation of women that your whole life
doesn’t have to be about a man...
9. Toby Zeigler (The West Wing)
Cynical on the outside, but a strong fighter for what
he believes in…
8. Mona Mayfair (The Mayfair Witches Series)
Spends so much of her youth seeking self-
satisfaction, but then focuses the rest of her young
life on her daughter.
7. Cordelia Chase (Angel)
From ditz to champion, is there any need to say more?
6. Chris Nielsen (What Dreams May Come)
Risks the depths of hell to find his soul mate.
5. President Josiah Bartlet (The West Wing)
The person we all wish could really be President.
4. Leeloo Dallas Multipass (The Fifth Element)
Remarkable amounts of symbolism in this movie, all
personified in this character.
3. Harry Potter (Harry Potter)
Did everything in his power to save his friends and
the world, even if it meant facing death.
2. Wesley Wyndam-Pryce (Angel)
Has there ever been a character who has had a more
phenomenal character arc?
1. Leo McGarry (The West Wing)
Such a complex character perfectly portrayed by John
Spencer.
